This has always been a wonderful occasion. The memory of your parents waking you up with an awful sounding happy birthday song and hugs and kisses and most importantly the cake and gifts. In my house hold birthdays was something you’d look forward to. When you living on your own it changes a little bit. They call at 00:01 they still sing the awful sounding happy birthday, they remember the gifts but I now have to get my own cake! πŸŽ‚πŸ˜
Getting older the birthday parties becomes an expense really, you have to do all the party planning. Do the decorating the way you want. Getting a theme for the celebration. And some of your guests still rock up with no gift and not in the theme of the day. Sounds silly now. Hehehe!
I've been planning my final birthday party, the crown of all birthdays! My crown birthday. An 18th century styled celebration, the period saw fashions for elaborate wigs, rich embroidery and full skirts. The hall the music, a live classical band, poetry, drama, satire, and novels. The Men with their silk pants, long socks, coats’, hats and most importantly the wigs! The ladies with their beautiful ball gowns, wigs, hand fan,  long gloves, petticoats’, cashmere shawls, hats and wigs. Oooh dear what a spectacle!! Laughing just writing about it. It’s definitely going to be awesome!! I just cannot wait.

Ah yes, birthdays sure are different when you are an adult. (And it will change again when you turn into the parent! Just a heads up hehe).
You describe things so well, sounds like you will be having a great time! Great theme πŸ˜€

Thank you, I’ve been planning this party two years in advance, everything sorted! The joys of being a parent, I hope one of my “future kids”, lol, will give me a noodled birthday card. That’s just sweet!
